Youth Plein Air Competition
Youth compete and learn down by the Wabash River, at McClures Orchard and Winery by the Tollhouse. Witness young artists in action, as they learn from professional watercolor artist, J.O. Buffington and then spread out to paint along the river. Entertainment for the event includes the Swampwater Stompers, from 10:30-12:00. Head to the courthouse stage area at 1:00, for judging and to see the youth art display, as well as award announcements by Peru’s mayor, Miles Hewitt.

Adult Plein Air Competition
View artists in action, as they paint the beautiful outdoors, landmarks, and people, throughout downtown Peru. Watch as they compete for three, $300 prizes, and witness the judging and winner’s announcement at the stage area, at 4:00 pm. Check-in for artists starts bright and early, with coffee and donut, at 7:00 am, at the information table on the corner of 5th and Broadway.
Festival Photography Competition
Everyone can compete on Festival day by using your phone or camera! Help document the sites and sounds of the first ever Peru Visual Arts Festival! Upload photos to the Festival Facebook page, with the appropriate hashtags. Judging for three $100 prizes will take place throughout the day.
